I build CSS-driven animations that integrate seamlessly with Rive's interactive states. This hybrid approach delivers complex, performant UI motion for web apps where user input triggers visual feedback.
While Rive excels at creating interactive, state-driven animations within its editor, its true power for web implementation is unlocked through strategic CSS integration. My work focuses on this crucial intersection. I use CSS to handle ambient animations, scroll triggers, and responsive behaviors that surround or complement the core Rive animation. This hybrid methodology is essential because pure Rive files can become heavy for constant, viewport-wide effects. By offloading these ambient motions to lightweight CSS, we maintain the interactive richness of Rive for primary UI elements while ensuring overall page performance stays sharp. For instance, a background particle system might be handled via CSS, while a central animated button's hover and click states are driven by the embedded Rive runtime. This precise orchestration requires deep knowledge of both the Rive API and modern CSS animation properties like `@keyframes`, `animation-timeline`, and custom properties for dynamic control. My 250+ projects have refined this process, ensuring animations feel cohesive and native to the browser environment, not just layered on top.

"Sergey's integration of our Rive animations with CSS scroll-triggered effects created a narrative flow we couldn't achieve with either tool alone. The performance impact was negligible."
"He solved a persistent jank issue by moving background elements to CSS, letting our primary Rive UI component run at a full 60fps. A technically brilliant solution."
